About This Blog

I am an amateur photographer, and I also love researching about different tools and techniques of photography. In my searching I realized that there were lots of resources, but very few geared toward or written from the perspective of the amateur photographer. Most are written by guys who have been doing it for a long time, professional or semi-pros, and I think the perspective changes from when you are starting out. Also, photography is not my job, but rather a hobby that I love to do, and love to learn about. The purpose of this blog is to capture what I have picked up and learned about photography, not only as a record for myself, but to share it with other amateurs who may be interested in starting out in photography or expanding their knowledge, whether it be about using a particular type of lens, trying out a new technical style of of photography, or what to look out for before buying a new tool for your photography arsenal.

I'll attempt to post at least once per week on a different topic either in equipment, technology, or photographic technique. I also encourage comments and questions on the posts. I only request that they are amicable and intended to further the discussion around photography. Lastly, I am going to keep this one mostly textual, but will post some example photographs to help illustrate key points.

I hope you enjoy, and be sure to comment to let me know how I'm doing or if you have a request for a future post.
